A number of high-profile Afghan politicians and human rights activists met for three days (September 15-18, 2022) in Viena, Austria, to discuss the current situation in Afghanistan and the prospect for peace in the country. The gathering took place under the auspices of the Austrian Institute for International Affairs.
The Committe for Peace in Afghanistan welcomes this gathering and its final statement. The CPA hopes that soon such Inter-Afghan gatherings and dialogues are institutionalized and become part of Afghanistan’s political process. It is through such gatherings and dialogues that permanent peace can be established in the country.
